Administration
What comes back is sold again.
A checked product that has been unpacked or shows signs of use does not have to go back into stock as new goods. As b-stock it gets an offer of its own with condition, short description, price and stock and is shown in the shop in the buy box below the new goods. Stock and price of the new goods stay as they are.
In the adminOrders › Return shipments › side menu Return shipments › B-stock
Switching b-stock on
Switch b-stock on per sales channel
Out of the box b-stock is off. It is switched on per sales channel in the configuration, card “B-stock”, or in the setup assistant, step “B-stock”. Off means: no box in the shop, b-stock drops out of the carts, and “As b-stock” is locked at the check; saved offers are kept.
Where to find them in the configuration (Orders › Return shipments › side menu System › Settings):
Card B-stock › Offer b-stock in the shopSwitched on, the offers appear in the shop in the buy box next to the new goods and can be created at the check. Off: no b-stock in this sales channel, existing offers stay stored.
Card B-stock › Leave b-stock out of promotionsSwitched on, discounts of promotions do not apply to b-stock, which is cheaper already. Off: discounts apply to b-stock as to every product.
From the return to the offer
Choose “As b-stock” at the check
Offers only come from a return shipment. First the product gets the choice “As b-stock” under “Resell” in the check; the stock of the new goods stays as it is. The example: Max Mustermann sends back the Headphones Sound 700, unpacked once and complete.
- 1
Switch on Resell and choose As b-stock. This works for standard products of Shopware when the sales channel of the return shipment offers b-stock.
- 2
Choose the Condition, here “Opened, like new”. It presets the offer later.
- 3
In the window “Complete check” the product shows “20 as b-stock” and at the top “Nothing goes into the stock”.
- 4
Afterwards the product waits in the card “B-stock” of the return shipment, “not created yet” with its condition. The dashboard counts it as the task “B-stock open”, and the list of return shipments finds it with the filter “Only with open b-stock”.
The window “Create b-stock”: condition, short description, pieces and price
In the card “B-stock”, “Create b-stock” opens the window with a box per waiting product. A new offer gets a price of its own; an equal one only counts the stock up.
- 1
Click Create b-stock in the card “B-stock”. The button is blue as long as a product waits, otherwise locked.
- 2
Condition: required, preset from the check. Next to it the switch Active, on for a new offer.
- 3
Create a new offer is preselected. Choose an existing offer works when the product already has an offer in this condition; otherwise it says “There is no offer of this product in this condition yet to choose from.”
- 4
Short description: optional, for the customer, for example “Unpacked once and checked, complete with accessories.” At most 255 characters, translatable per language at the product.
- 5
Pieces: all pieces from the check, fixed; they are added to the stock of the offer.
- 6
Price (gross) and Price (net): required and above 0, in the default currency, with the tax of the product. The lock links both fields: €142.95 gross is €120.13 net, the new goods cost €179.00.
- 7
The blue box below always says what happens, here “New offer “Opened, like new · Unpacked once and checked, complete with accessories.” with an own price.”
- 8
Create b-stock creates the offer. The status stays in “In progress” here, because the headphones still wait for the refund; the customer gets no mail about the b-stock itself.
Equal b-stock counts the stock up
Every combination of condition and short description is an offer of its own per variant, with its own price. If the same variant comes back in the same condition with the same short description, the window recognises the equal offer, also with “Create a new offer”; upper and lower case and spaces at the edges do not count. The example: return shipment 50317 from Lena Hoffmann brings a second pair of Headphones Sound 700.
Price and “Active” of the existing offer stay and are grey.
The blue box names the new stock: “Same b-stock as the offer “Opened, like new · Unpacked once …”: price €142.95 and “active” stay, stock 1 → 2 pcs.” If the offer is inactive, it says “the offer stays inactive”.
Another condition or another short description gives a second offer with its own price; the shop then shows both as a choice.
Managing offers
The list “B-stock” shows every offer of every product
In the side menu under Return shipments › B-stock every offer is listed, the newest first. Nothing is created here, and there is no detail page of its own; editing happens at the product.
Open B-stock in the side menu. The search “Search b-stock …” finds product name, product number and short description.
The columns: “Product” with the variant in brackets, “Condition”, “Short description”, “Price” gross in the default currency, “Stock” with a coloured dot (green from 25, yellow from 1 to 24, otherwise red) and “Active”. “Stock” and “Active” can be sorted.
The filter icon opens the sidebar “Filter”: “In stock only”, “Condition” (several can be chosen, empty “All”) and “Active” with “Active only” or “Inactive only”. The choice stays until the admin is reloaded.
The row menu has Open at the product, which opens the tab “B-stock” of the variant, and Delete with a question first.
Without an offer it says “No b-stock yet” with the sentence on how b-stock comes about and the link “To the return shipments”.
The tab “B-stock” at the product: edit and delete offers
Every saved product has the tab “B-stock” next to “Return shipments” with its offers; at a main product with variants the column “Variant” comes first, at a variant only its own offers. Without an offer it says “There is no b-stock for this product.”
- 1
Open Catalogues › Products, the product and the tab B-stock.
- 2
The row menu of an offer has Edit and Delete.
- 3
The window “Edit b-stock offer” changes Condition, Active and the Short description; it is translatable per language via the language in the head bar.
- 4
Stock: the pieces of the offer, freely from 0. An order takes them off; with 0 pieces the offer is not shown in the shop.
- 5
Price (gross) and Price (net): required and above 0, only in the default currency; other currencies work through their factor.
- 6
Save saves the offer at once, without “Save” of the product page. If the variant already has an offer with this condition and this short description, the window says so.
- 7
Delete asks first: “The offer with 1 pcs. is deleted: …”. Afterwards it drops out of the carts with a notice, and the return shipment shows “Offer deleted”.
When does the stock of an offer change?
The stock of an offer is independent of the stock of the new goods. The example: the Headphones Sound 700, new goods at €179.00 with 20 pieces in stock, and the offer “Opened, like new · Unpacked once and checked, complete with accessories.” at €142.95.
| What happens | Stock of the offer | Stock of the new goods |
|---|---|---|
| Return shipment 50301 is checked “As b-stock” | no offer yet, “not created yet” | 20 |
| “Create b-stock” with a new offer at €142.95 | 0 → 1 | 20 |
| Return shipment 50317 brings the equal b-stock | 1 → 2 | 20 |
| A customer orders 1 piece of b-stock | 2 → 1, never below 0 | 20 |
| The customer cancels this order | stays 1 | 20 |
| “Reopen” at the check of 50301 | 1 → 0, no longer in the shop | 20 |
| Editing in the window of the offer | freely from 0 | 20 |
With 0 pieces or “Active” off an offer is not shown in the shop, but it keeps price and stock.
In the shop and in rules
How b-stock shows in the buy box
The box “B-stock” stands below “Add to shopping cart” and the product number as soon as the sales channel offers b-stock and the variant shown has an active offer with stock, even when the new goods themselves cannot be bought.
“B-stock” in bold, below it “Checked returns in the condition named, at a reduced price.”
Per offer the condition, the short description in the language of the shop and the stock as “1 left”.
On the right the price of the offer, €142.95, below it the price of the new goods crossed out, €179.00. Crossed out is always the price of the new goods, and only when it is higher.
Several offers are shown as a choice, by the position of the condition, then by price; the first one is chosen.
Add b-stock to cart puts the chosen offer into the cart, with a quantity up to the stock. There it is called “Headphones Sound 700 (B-stock)” with “condition · short description” below; this is also how it shows in the order and the documents.
A b-stock position is greyed out in the form of the return shipment with “Can not be sent back.”, and b-stock does not count in the return rate. The whole way of a return is shown in the example Returns as b-stock.
The rule “Cart contains b-stock” for shipping, payment and promotions
In the Rule Builder the group “Cart” has the condition “Cart contains b-stock”. With it you tie shipping methods, payment methods or promotions to b-stock in the cart, for example a shipping method only for orders without b-stock.
Choose the condition Cart contains b-stock.
Yes matches when a b-stock position is in the cart, No when there is none.
Optionally only certain conditions, several can be chosen; empty means “All conditions”. In rules per position the condition checks the position itself.
For all promotions at once the configuration has the switch “Leave b-stock out of promotions”, above in the band “Switching b-stock on”.
A dynamic product group with b-stock
Under Catalogues › Dynamic product groups there is the field “B-stock” with “Active”, “Stock” and “Condition” of the offers, for example for a category with returns. The group holds the products, not the offers.
Choose the field B-stock and below it what counts, here “Stock” “Greater than” 0. A second condition only takes the condition “Signs of use”.
When an offer changes, Shopware does not work out the saved assignment of the group again on its own.
Common questions
Does b-stock change the stock of the new goods?
No. A product “As b-stock” books nothing into the stock of the new goods; the offer has its own stock. An order with b-stock also only takes from the offer.
Where do I create a b-stock offer?
At the return shipment: in the check the product gets “As b-stock”, then “Create b-stock” in the card “B-stock” creates the offer. The list “B-stock” and the tab at the product show, edit and delete offers.
Can a product have several b-stock offers?
Yes. Per variant every combination of condition and short description exists once, each with its own price and stock. In the shop several offers are shown as a choice.
What happens to the stock when an order with b-stock is cancelled?
Nothing: cancelling, changing or deleting an order does not book the stock of the offer back. You change the stock in the window “Edit b-stock offer” at the product.
Do promotions apply to b-stock too?
Yes, promotions on the whole cart take b-stock like any product. With “Leave b-stock out of promotions” in the card “B-stock” of the configuration they do not apply to b-stock.
Which price is crossed out next to the b-stock?
The price of the new goods, and only when it is higher than the price of the offer, for example €179.00 next to €142.95.
Why do I not see the box “B-stock” in the shop?
The box is only shown when “Offer b-stock in the shop” is on for the sales channel and the variant shown has an active offer with stock. With 0 pieces or “Active” off an offer is not shown in the shop.
Can the customer send b-stock back?
No. A b-stock position is greyed out in the form of the return shipment with “Can not be sent back.”
