Right where you already are
Whoever works on a return usually has the order open. So the plugin hangs there too - as a tab, as a context menu, and as a way to file a return yourself.
What this is about
Not every return comes through the form. Some come by phone, some by mail, some are already in a box at the door. For those cases the shop files the return itself - without leaving the order.
A tab of its own on the order
Next to "General", "Details" and "Documents" sits a tab "Return shipments". It lists every return for this order with number, status and date, a "Display" per row and "Create new return shipment" below.
And when there are none yet
Then it says so: "No return shipments has been created for this order yet." No empty box, no table with zero rows.
No return shipments has been created for this order yet.
Straight from the order list
The context menu of every row in the order list holds "Create return shipment". A right click is enough - you do not have to open the order first.
Filing it in the admin
The form shows order, date, customer and sales channel at the top, below that the lines with "Number", "Name", "Quantity", "Reason" and "Procedure". Whatever already went back is subtracted from the selectable quantities. Whether the customer gets a mail about it is a setting of its own.
Which settings apply when the shop files it
| Setting | Technical name | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Inform customer by email when creating a return shipment | sendEmailToCustomerOnCreate | Four values, and the difference counts right here: one of them sends the mail only for cases filed in the administration. |
| Send attachments | sendEmailToCustomerOnCreateAttachments | Whether the return document and the label travel with it. That turns the phone call into a mail with everything the customer needs. |
| Activate email | emailStatus | The other direction: a message to you as soon as a new return has been filed. |
| Email address | emailAddress | The recipient of that message. |
| Subject | emailSubject | The subject of that message. |
| Content | emailContent | The content of that message. |
